The Aravis Capital Advisory Board was formed in 2016 and comprises four industry practitioners with a wealth of experience.
The mission of our advisory board is to provide insight and support to help us identify trends and developments in the global funds market so that we always have a meaningful roster of high quality and in-demand fund managers for our investors.
The Advisory board meets two or three times a year to keep abreast of changes in global markets
Having trained as a geologist, a short career in the mining industry was followed by an entry into the world of finance in 1982 in the role of mining and commodities analyst with Prudential Portfolio Managers.
In 1984, Peter moved to Abbey Life Investment services to commence fund management with responsibilities for natural resources and the Asia ex Japan markets. By 1990, Peter was the director with the overall responsibility for Japan and the smaller markets of Asia and by 1996 for Asia and emerging markets worldwide.
In 1999 on leaving Abbey Life, Peter co-founded Wessex Asset Management, a long/short boutique specialising in equities of the Asia ex Japan territories and the major natural resource stock markets worldwide.
Catherine has 20 years of financial markets experience, and currently works as a consultant, advising clients on asset allocation, portfolio strategy and investment decisions. She has recently submitted her PhD at the London School of Economics and presented at a number of conferences.
Previously, Catherine was Director of Alternative Assets at Prudential M&G where she managed the firm's £3bn allocation to alternative investments which comprised hedge funds, private equity, and infrastructure funds. During her time at Prudential she set up the research capabilities for alternative investments and restructured the operational side of this business from a tax and legal perspective.
Before joining Prudential Catherine was the Head of Fund Research at a family office.
Rosie Norris runs an FCA authorised consulting business advising family offices and endowments. She started in the City in 1982 managing UK equity portfolios for a range of client types at Warburg Investment Management, latterly with Schroders and GVG where she was CIO.
She currently maintains a portfolio of interests and is Chair of the COIF family of investment funds for charities, a non - executive director of CCLA Investment Management Limited and an Advisory Board member of hedge fund Inflection Point Investments. She is a Trustee of Buttle UK where she chairs the investment committee and a member of the RNLI investment committee. She holds a BA in history from Cambridge University and a Sloan MSc from London Business School.
A founding partner of RMG Investment Management, Stewart is the Chief Investment Officer. Having worked for Coutts, Merrill Lynch and Royal Bank of Canada, Stewart has over 25 years' experience in managing global macro style, absolute return strategies on both a discretionary and advisory basis. Stewart has built an ability to maintain a genuinely global perspective when allocating assets and approaches investment management with absolute return as the goal.
